31 Jan, Fri

had another easy night with Dulce sleeping with me .... now totally convinced of his 'sweetness' ..... i asked, and Andrew confirmed that he was serious about taking Dulce with him to Seattle  :)

so, i talked to Madi early this morning about getting the necessary documents.   she said she didn't have time to confirm what all we needed and take him to the Vet in Belize City.   so i started working on that first thing this morning.
i spent hours on the phone with the Center for Disease Control, and confirmed that NOTHING is required to bring a cat into the USA ... no rabies, ... nothing!!!   ...however, after several phone calls to United Airlines, i learned that they DO require proof of Rabies Vaccination and a general Health Certificate from the Vet.   i am assuming this is a "CYA" requirement on their part in case the animal escapes and bites a passenger.

so at 11:15 i stuffed Dulce in a cat carrier and ran to the Water Taxi to take him to Belize City to get it done.   i was, of course, misinformed, and after i arrived, i realized the Water Taxi didn't leave until 12noon  :)   ....so we waited on the Dock.    Madi arranged for a taxi to be waiting to take us to the Vet ... which is half way to the airport.   the Taxi Driver waited for me while i got his Certificate and Rabies Vaccination.   then back to the Water Taxi at 2pm, for a 3pm Water Taxi ....    i am totally amazed that Dulce took the entire trip 'in stride'.   he never made a sound ... in fact, i've NEVER heard him make a sound ....   but he was very relaxed through the whole ordeal.   he's one GREAT kitten!

so, that's how i spent my day  ...  but ... Dulce is now legally ready to become a USCitizen :)   i am very happy about this ... we all are very happy about this   :)      Andrew leaves on Tues, ...with very precious cargo  :)

i also saw this sign painted on the end of the dock ....

Andrew, Jim and I want to Wish Willy's for Lobster tonight  :)
