AN 'ok' DAY TURNED BAD
Oscar and Nic were busy installing bouys in another area today, so some other guys and 'Tourist Police' took me to West Bay ....
nothing exceptional to report on Beach Patrol today ...

the guys said they would tell Oscar to pick me up at 1:30, but at 1:45 he still wasn't here, ,,,, so i hopped on a Water Taxi back to West End.
i have been giving some serious thought to extending my stay here ... i've made some friends, i'm comfortable here, and am busy with the Marine Park; but there are lots of things to consider:
--income tax filing (i usually base my return on this date)
--Medicare enrollment (i know i'm not that old :)
--Supplemental election (w/Pfizer)
--medications (can i get them here)
--flights
--a place to stay, ...my room may be rented, since Semana Santa (Holy Week) is very busy here, and prices for rooms increase dramatically
--can i tolerate being here during Semana Santa with all the drunken loud party kids, (i was here 2yrs ago and vowed never to be here again ..... i specifically chose my original dates to be gone by Semana Santa)
--and lastly, do i really need to return in early April, when Spring will no doubt be delayed ....
..... i've been working through the list...
so, when i got home today, i took a taxi to Coxen Hole to the Farmacia (pharmacy) to see what medications i could get. i found what i needed and then went to Eldon's, .... it's a SUPERmarket ... like we have at home ... oh the joys :) ....it's like being a kid in a candy store :)
Eldon's is up on a big hill with lotsa steps to get up there... it was nice and cool inside ...but i started feeling very weak... maybe i was dehydrated, since i'd been out in the hot sun for hours at West Bay and hadn't had much water. i got a Gatorade and drank it as i wandered around and felt a little better. my refrigerator is tiny, so i couldn't really buy much, but i did find some salami :) ...and a Dove bar :)
by the time i got home, i was not feeling well at all ... what is going on? ....i was so cold! ... i found my long underware in the bottom of my bag, and my blanket that i use on the plane, and socks, and crawled into bed, shivering ... i think i have a fever .... i took a couple aspirin, which helped, ...then i was hot and sweating .... then cold and chills, you know how that goes :( ....
Damn! tonight was the final game of the softball tournament and a party at Katie's to watch the game from her place ..... a great hill right over second base ... but, i wasn't going anywhere ... it's just on the other side of the trees from where i live and i could hear the hollering and cheering through the whole game, and i couldn't move :( ...my fever lessened as the night went on, and then the trips to the toilet started :(
.....not me! ... i'm never sick :)
